Ólavsøka is the national holiday celebration. The streets of Tórshavn are transformed into a big party during these two days. You will have the opportunity to meet the Faroese people dressed in their finest national costumes, sample Faroese delicacies and watch the national sport of rowing. DAY 1: Arrival to the Faroe Islands.
Arrival to the Faroe Islands with Atlantic Airways.
DAY 2 & 3: Ólavsøka - An experience for life.
Meet the locals, many of them wearing their beautiful national dress, taste delicious Faroese food and see our national sport, rowing. Do not miss the fantastic community singing, and do join in when the Faroese chain dance begins.
DAY 4 and 5: Faroese highlights - Explore the Faroe Islands by rental car or by going on daily excursions
Visit the village of Tjørnuvík, which is surrounded by steep mountains. Here you can see the impressive rock formations the Giant and the Witch.
Enjoy the scenic village of Gjógv, which is known for its unique natural harbour and a beautiful view of the island of Kalsoy. The natural harbour is an attraction everyone should take time to see.
Boat trip to Vestmanna Cliffs. This combi trip starts with a boat trip to the Vestmanna Cliffs. You sail into grottos, through narrow sounds, and close to the almost 700 feet high vertical cliffs.
DAY 6: Departure from the Faroe Islands.
